Workshop: Visual Storytelling for Artists – Practice Session

Workshop: Visual Storytelling for Artists – Practice Session

17.04.2025 hrs 15:56
In this creative and practical workshop 6.5, you will work on promoting both your art and your artistic identity.

Your artistic identity deserves to be seen, understood, and remembered. In this hands-on workshop, visual storyteller and branding expert Pola Laamanen will guide participants through the process of shaping an authentic and engaging artistic presentation, one that highlights both the artwork and the artist behind it.

Together, we’ll create high-quality, narrative-driven content using your own photos and devices, combined with selected images taken using professional photography equipment. The session focuses on artistic collage-style storytelling, documenting the creative process in a way that feels personal, visually rich, and shareable across platforms like Instagram, websites, portfolios, and project proposals.

Whether or not you attended the Personal Branding for Artists webinar on April 24, this workshop is open to all. For those who missed the webinar, a short PDF summary will be shared before the session to introduce key concepts and get you up to speed.

We’ll cover how to:
– Present your creative process in a visually engaging way
– Combine personal photos, process shots, handwritten notes, and cut-out “stickers”
– Apply branding and storytelling principles to your own work
– Create content that feels both professional and personal

Final Outcome:
Each participant will create a carousel-style Instagram post that tells the story of one of their artworks, featuring their own photos, notes, and handcrafted visual elements. The result is a unique, artistically curated post that reflects both the work and the maker behind it.

This interactive session offers valuable insights into composition, narrative, and visual branding—and is a practical extension of the knowledge shared in the webinar.
