My sister Katarina and I often worked together with our art. I was greatly inspired by her way of working and her expertise. She was a role model and mentor for me. She was seriously ill with cancer when she moved back to Åland a few years ago, after 50 years on the mainland. All my time went into helping her, so I had to set aside all creative work. Now I have the time and energy to begin my creative work again. I have so many different forms of expression that I can devote myself to depending on my mood at the time. If I don’t feel like painting, I can sit with needle and thread, until I suddenly take out my gelli plate and start composing images that have popped into my head!

I, Petri Allinen, attended Hyvinkää Art School for three years in my youth. After that, in the early 90s, I participated in a couple of joint exhibitions in Karkkila and Hyvinkää. I also attended the Kuusamo art camp for several years. Nowadays, I paint at home in my studio in Kungsö on Åland. I draw inspiration from cubism and abstract art, as well as from some comic book artists. The materials I use are acrylic and oil paints, which I apply on canvas. For illustrations, I use markers and watercolors. My paintings could be described as coloristic.

I am an artist who works with visual arts and sculpture.

My name is Cajsa Wilén, and I am now living in Åland again after three years in Stockholm, where I studied at Nyckelviksskolan and then continued to develop my work with ceramics independently. My art mainly consists of ceramic sculptures, but also includes some functional objects such as vases. I place a strong emphasis on detail in my work and enjoy experimenting with textures and colors.

Judy Bradley has dedicated her whole life to clay, but it still surprises and challenges her. She fell in love with ceramics at art school as a 16-year-old. She started her own workshop in London at the age of 19, and has worked on Åland since 1978. After a long career in utility ware Judy has increasingly begun to play with the clay. Her objects are bigger and the decoration more abstract. The decoration is painted freely and impulsively, although she plays with the clay this is a respectful and curious play.

Watercolor is the technique that is closest to me. It is difficult, but when the paper, pigment,bruches and my mind work in the same direction, I am satisfied. I strive to convey feelings and moods in painting and the main source of inspiration is in the nature. I also write books and just in time for this years art round I am releasing "A Creative Life" and offering something small and good.

My name is Mari Stefansdotter and I am a trained graphic artist from the Swedish School of Art in Nykarleby, and I have a Master of Fine Arts from Aalto University. In total, I have participated in over fifty exhibitions, and even though my art practice today is a side job, I have had the opportunity to show my latest exhibitions to a wide audience. In recent years, I have focused on developing my knowledge of screen printing, and it is these works and the processes behind the images that those who visit my temporary studio at Galleri Skarpans will see. My latest image project has been about exploring and depicting "The participation of the Finn horse in the winter and continuation war in Finland", an exhibition that also includes texts by the author Carina Karlsson, also from Åland.

I throw, roll, and build with clay. I work on a small scale and often focus on function and simplicity. For me, it's important to work as environmentally friendly if possible, and the wonderful thing about clay is that it's a pure natural product. I usually make my own glazes so I know what's in them.

I am an artist and craftsman mainly working with sculpting and carving sword-like objects in fresh wood. For me, the design language of melee weapons is very fascinating - not least the unimaginable width and variety seen across all cultures and historical eras. I'm also interested in exploring how much you can change the shape of a given object before it becomes interpreted as something other.

Eva-Lotta is a Finnish-Swedish visual artist, illustrator and graphic designer living in Åland. The nature of the Åland archipelago during all her childhood summers became an inspiration for her early creations. Eva-Lotta has a diverse artistic expression that ranges from realism to the abstract and through many different techniques. Going beyond boundaries and exploring new intuitive ways of creating is currently part of her path as an artist after a long period of more realistic creation and portrait assignments.

Eve-Ly Villberg is an Estonia-born painter and calligrapher who has now moved to live in Åland. Her primary medium of expression is oil painting, in which she combines a sensitive sense of colour, the play of light, and a deep emotional presence. In earlier years, flowers were at the centre of her work – memories from the garden of her childhood home. In recent years, however, the sea with its thousand faces has increasingly become her source of inspiration. Her particular favourites are sunrises and sunsets, which offer wonderful colourful spectacles. For her, the sea reflects both the rhythms of nature and the states of the soul. Through her art, Eve-Ly wishes to offer viewers a sense of recognition, inner resonance, and positive experiences – moments in which one can pause, breathe, a

Hülya Tokur är fotograf baserad i Mariehamn på Åland. Hon har en kandidatexamen i konstfotografi och har arbetat professionellt som fotograf i över sju år vid Ålandstidningen. Hennes fotografiska arbete rör sig mellan dokumentärt berättande och konstnärligt uttryck, med särskilt fokus på människan, identitet och känslomässig närvaro. Genom sitt bildspråk utforskar hon teman som tillhörighet, minne och relationen mellan individ och omgivning. Hülya inspireras av verkliga livsberättelser och autentiska ögonblick. Hon arbetar både med långsiktiga dokumentära projekt och mer intuitiva, konstnärliga serier. Som Fotograf strävar hon efter att skapa bilder som inte bara dokumenterar, utan också berör och känslomässig koppling till betraktaren.

I participate in Konstrundan with my art and my crafts. My art often covers universal human themes with motifs that interest, engage and touch me. Everything from nature, animals, myths and fairy tales to simplified and abstracted compositions is what inspires me to create my visual world. My craft is based on this world of images, that I print on fabric, design and sew products from. I am currently working with graphics and painting; printing monotypes in shades of blue and painting vibrant watercolours. I show my art and my craft through a specially composed exhibition during Konstrundan. Welcome!

I work with many glass techniques such as copper foil, fusing, glasspainting, glassmosaic and sandblasting. I am interested in the latest techniques in my field and also participate in courses abroad. My studio is located at KultuFabriken in Mariehamn, where I also give glass courses. I actively participate in exhibitions.

During Konstrundan, Anna Lind Bengtsson shows works where emotions are allowed to speak through large, semi-abstract paintings. Her artistic expression is dreamy and expressive, but at the same time down-to-earth and barren. With the brush, she has interpreted everything from Stormskär's Maja to Edith Södergran, and the dynamics of nature as well as the inner landscape are often reflected in her artwork. Lind Bengtsson strives to convey an experience that remains in the mind. She works primarily in acrylic and oil, but also has ceramics and watercolor as artistic expressions. Her art provokes thoughts and touches deeply.

I am a multidisciplinary artist and dancer working in contemporary dance, performance, and installation. My practice is norm-critical and rooted in queer pedagogy, focusing on how bodies are shaped by and can renegotiate social structures. I work with expanded choreography where movement, space, sound, and visual elements interact and develop each other. Installation and performance are my main forms of expression, where choreography functions as a spatial and relational method. Through staged situations and fictional characters, I explore how norms operate through the body and space, and how they can be shifted.

Maria Nurmela is a Finnish contemporary dance artist and 2020 ABOA Cultural Prize recipient whose works span over two decades of international creation and performance. Working at the intersections of dance, film, and performance art, she creates works that explore human identity, social phenomena, and reimagined narratives through a somatic-oriented methodology that extends to ecosomatic practices and more-than-human relationships. She collaborates regularly with filmmaker Vesa Loikas and co-leads The Days Project, which has toured across Europe, Russia, and North America. Maria also teaches at the Theatre Academy of the University of the Arts in Helsinki, drawing on her expertise as a dance artist and certified Feldenkrais practitioner.

I am a multidisciplinary artist with a background in painting. My practice is research-based, with the body as both point of departure and measure. A dialogue between body and form recurs in my work – from large, undulating movements to subtle detail. Traditional painting techniques, such as egg tempera, meet experiments with new materials and ways of building surface and structure. Function and aesthetics are intertwined in a shared bodily language.

Vesa Loikas is a photographer and visual artist who also works with multimedia and augmented reality. In his work, he explores the human condition through the interaction between people, architecture, and landscape, often in collaboration with other artists. In recent years, he has collaborated with choreographer and dancer Maria Nurmela. Their short film Echoes was nominated for the Prix Lumière in Canada. Their multidisciplinary project Entanglement will premiere at Kiasma in October 2026 and has previously been presented in Vienna, Oslo, and Turku. Skogsvaktarna (The Forest Guardians) was first presented as part of the City of Turku's 2025 pop-up art program.

Raised with little interest in visual art at home, my interest was sparked at school by a teacher who took us to galleries and museums in Helsinki in the 1960s. As an adult, I began painting in courses in watercolor, oil and Japanese woodblock printmaking, and studied at the Fria Konstskolan. I had a number of exhibitions but stopped to pursue graduate studies in nursing. Now I have returned to art, where my own aging has given me a slower vision and a deepening in color, light and stillness. I make woodblock prints, paint in watercolor and acrylic and do some graphics. I am chairman of the Åland Art Association and also a member of the Åland Artists (ÅK) section. I have solo exhibitions and participate in group exhibitions.

I paint figuratively in oil. My latest project is close-up studies of moss and rocks.

I am an Ålandic children’s book illustrator, artist, and tattooist based in Sweden, working with a visual world where fantastical figures and animal hybrids move between the playful and the mysterious. My artistic practice centers on transformation and movement, both within the narratives of my motifs and in how images change when they leave the paper and take on new bodies through different materials and formats. I work primarily with drawing on paper and skin, while also enjoying experimenting with other materials.

Nicolina Eklund is a ceramic artist who started her education at Ålands folkhögskolas departement of ceramics and ended it at Gerrit Rietveld Academies departementet of Fine arts in Amsterdam. After graduating 2016 she worked with performance with a base in Frankfurt and Bergamo/Milano and returned to the Aland islands and her pottery when the pandemic hit 2019. Today she owns a small studio in the basement of an old historical house in Mariehamn where she produces sculptures that she calls Origin animals. The animals take shape as pure sculpture, lamps or a bowl and the essence is playful, yet they sometimes have a hidden message about relationships, to oneself or others. Like in her most popular sculpture Sambos (a Swedish term for living together) where two animals are stuck together.

I am a full-time visual artist since the early 90s. I work with many techniques, such as oil painting, illustration and sculpture.

Alexandra Trizna is an international ultra-contemporary artist based in the Åland Islands, with a 25-year career spanning Russia, Denmark, Sweden, and Åland. Her practice focuses on large-scale painting, exploring inner landscapes, time, identity, and transformation. She also creates portraits and presents retrospective collections of her work. Her work balances freedom and precision, combining playfulness and discipline. After a period of silence, she returns with the series Symphony. Soul’s Journey. Alexandra’s studio, Creative Space Daily, in Mariehamn, serves as a space for exhibitions, workshops, creative sessions, and retrospective presentations.

I am a sculptor and I work mostly with scrap metal. I make animals but also other objects such as robot sculptures. I have been doing my art form for almost 20 years.

My name is Lotta Gustafsson and I have run a craft business since 1989. I have also run a craft cafe for the past 18 years with a passion for pastries. But I am probably best known for my machine-knitted garments, hand-dyed yarns and now also for my ceramics. Ceramics came into my life about 10 years ago. And for the past 5 years I have had my own studio and shop here on the farm where I live. I also sell my ceramics and knitted garments in the craft shop Salt in Mariehamn. I am very interested in gardening and like to create with plants. I usually welcome garden groups and am working on creating a sculpture garden, to create a more interesting experience.

Artist from Åland who has exhibited internationally, including at Feriatte in Madrid and Milano Miart. I collaborate with galleries in Milan, Stockholm, Berlin, and museums across Europe. My artistic practice is continuously evolving, and I am currently featuring new images from Australia. My work is produced at the renowned Grieger in Düsseldorf.

I work primarily in watercolour, but I also paint in acrylic. I have also designed stained‑glass artworks (leadlight). Nature is my main source of inspiration, but I also paint objects and figures. Striving for simplicity is the guiding aim of my artistic practice.

All my life I have enjoyed working with my hands, creating with different materials. Early on, I drew in pencil and ink. I started painting in oils in the 1980s, then took a long break from painting, and started again in 2016 when I retired. I am now back at the easel and paint mostly in acrylics and oils. I experiment with different materials, methods and approaches. I want my works to be a little different. I also create sculptures from wooden strips. My paintings can be abstract, allowing the viewer to interpret their meaning freely, or they can be purely concrete or naturalistic.

Watercolor artist with nature and the archipelago as the main source of inspiration.

Hannamari is a children's books illustrator. She has illustrated ca 50 picture books since 2007, 13 of which he also wrote. Hannamari creates her exciting colours using ordinary color pencils and collage technique - paper, scissors and glue. "I want children to recognize the technique used in the illustrations. Shadows and scissor marks in collage and pencil marks in the illustrations bring the child closer to the play of creation." Hannamari has worked with the biggest Finnish publishing houses and participated in several illustration exhibitions around the world. "I don't think about the opinions of adults when making illustrations. I want to tell of my thoughts to the children."

Lotta is a self-taught artist, designer and teacher. She has been creating her timeless and simple textile prints and motifs since 1996. She is the author of twelve books and has collaborated with many shops, artisans, museums and manufacturers around the world. “I love working with many different mediums; I paint and print on paper and canvas,  I shape clay, draw with ink and explore egg oil tempera. I create bowls, collages, pillows, bags, screen prints that can be framed and many other inspiring things”

Nature and the archipelago inspire the simple and beautiful. My passion is to work with my hands and succeed in the process from idea to product. It is fascinating to see the product develop in the fabric, on the printing table or when tanning fish skins. Durable and durable products in natural materials please the customer and me. My thing is to make products that can be used every day.
