Painting
Ia Kuula, self-taught visual artist, born 1989 in Vaasa, Finland. Kuula paints colorful works of art with a lot of details.
She is inspired by people's conscious and unconscious choices in life that shape our common reality.
She belives that nature needs to be protected and therefor she mainly uses different kinds of leftover materials that would otherwise be thrown away instead of buying new material when she creates.
Her style has been described as psychedelic. Ia Kuula's art is very much appreciated by children. Among all the details there is always something new to look at!
Ia Kuula has her studio in the basement of an eco shop and a newly opened art gallery upstairs. During Konstrundan you have the opportunity to look through a large collection of both new and old works in the gallery. Everything from large paintings to sketchbooks. The artist is on site all day and paints/draws live. It is also possible to sit down for a cup of coffee/tea.
The studio is located in Ekosoppi, a shop next to Hotel Astor. Opposite Vaasa trainstation.
