Information about the artist / the group

My name is Petri Kiviniemi, and I am a visual artist (BA). I am a member of the Association of Finnish Sculptors, a candidate member of the Finnish Painters' Union, and a member of the Tampere Artists’ Association. Currently, I prefer to work with public art. My public artworks are often site-specific, created especially for a particular location. The inspiration for a piece comes from its setting, the history of the place, or its atmosphere.

As an artist, I am inspired by the history of a place, the environment, nature, and the human being as part of the world. I do a lot of commissioned work, and the planning process always starts with a joint meeting and discussion.

My mission is to create inspiring and uplifting art that becomes a part of people's everyday lives.
