Tiina Herttua is a visual artist and painter who graduated from the Lahti Art Institute. He boldly uses colors in his large-scale expressive paintings. The paintings are mainly abstract, although there are references to recognizable elements.
Herttua's works have been exhibited in Finland, European countries, Australia, Japan and the United States, and they have been acquired by e.g. to the collections of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland.
"The starting point of my paintings can be a memory of a place, light or color in the landscape. In the last few years, I have worked for part of the year in Sicily, where I paint outdoors, "en-plain-air". I like the benefits it brings, such as natural light, but also the challenges it poses to the painting process. "
