"A painting as a painting can also be taken to the opposite extreme. Reduced, boiled down to something small, so that little remains. Even the colors are close to one another. Inkeri Halme’s truly unassuming paintings offer inner strength to those who take the time to look at them. After a short while, one feels that these could be something to fall in love with. [...] at their most intense, these works consist of thick, almost self-suffocating paint, a painting surface, and the wordless, inexplicable existence of painting itself.” (Rautio, Pessi: “Painting is between perception and abstraction”, Taide-magazine no. 5–6/2024)
Inkeri Halme graduated as a painter from the Free Art School in 2020. Her works are included in various collections, e.g. the State Art Commission/National Gallery.
