Heidi Hakkarainen paints abstract works based on emotions and experiences. She also creates installations and sculptures. She is fascinated by stories, worn surfaces, and chance. The themes of her works often carry a sense of melancholy, but her approach to color and form is comforting and hopeful, sometimes even playful. Her serial working method ties the works together thematically and technically, creating connections between them. In addition to paint, her paintings may include pieces of fabric, cardboard, and paper, as well as lines drawn with pencils or charcoal. Hakkarainen (b. 1983) is a visual artist from Kuopio. She graduated from Kankaanpää Art School (AMK, YAMK), has held several solo exhibitions, and participates annually in group and collective exhibitions.
At the studio, you can explore Hakkarainen's artistic process and works, as well as chat with the artist. In the same studio, in addition to Hakkarainen, works also two other visual artists.
The entrance to the workspace is located at the corner of the building facing the inner courtyard.
