Information about the artist / the group

I studied ceramic design at the University of Art and Design Helsinki, and graduated in 1980. I've taught I have spent almost my entire working life at the Kokkola Region College and the Kokkola Children's Art School, and I still continue teaching even though I am already retired from teaching. During these years, I have had my own workshop, where I have made works for exhibitions and made ceramic utensils. I have received several scholarships. In 2014, I received a three-year working grant from the Central Ostrobothnia Cultural Foundation. At that time, I went to work in Estonia and France for month-long residencies. I moved to Vitsari in 2009 and renovated the old glove factory into a ceramics workshop and home.

Program during Konstrundan

On the Konstrundan weekend I'm going to burn ceramics in the yard if the weather allows. Visitors can view my work inside the workshop gallery and outdoors and buy my ceramics. The audience can also try throwing and clay shaping in the workshop.
