Jenni Ahonen is an artist and designer based in Lahti, Finland, who works mainly with ceramics. She is interested in exploring the complexity of humanity, the many layers of nature and our relationship with nature. These themes recur frequently in her work.
The creation of Ahonen’s works is guided by the clays forming processes and material research. All the ceramics are made of high-quality stoneware clay using hand building techniques. She likes working with clay by hand because it's not rushed and gets her fully tuned in to the job at hand. Forming the clay slowly creates room for intuitive shaping and playfulness.
During the event, you can try working with clay by hand in the studio. In the shared spaces of the Svinksi creative community, there is also a group exhibition.
