Painting
I am Ulla Kivimäki, a visual artist and art teacher who attended the University of Applied Arts. A few years ago, I moved from Helsinki to the center of Laitila, to a 100-year-old wooden house, where I have my own office, a small art gallery and Cafe Art. I paint abstract art mainly with acrylic colors on canvas. The starting point for making art is the transmission of sensory perception from nature and the surrounding atmosphere. The inner experience is often conveyed through strong colors, light and movement. The subjects of my paintings are also mythology and animals.
During the Konstrundan event, visitors can explore Villa Aurelia’s small art gallery, studio, and the many rooms of the house, whose walls are filled with artworks. Artworks are also available for purchase. At Café Art, coffee and tea are served alongside artisan pastries.
Turn right from Highway 8 at the soft drink factory, drive 100 metres. A large yellow wooden house is on the right side of the road.
From the church gate, a straight gravel road leads to Villa Aurelia’s main entrance.
