Ceramics
I am Emmi-Riikka Marin, a ceramic artist and nature guide living in Liesjärvi, Tammela. My main focus is on sculptures and reliefs, but I also occasionally paint, draw, and explore combining different media. I am particularly fascinated by colors and glazes—I am constantly seeking new knowledge and skills to channel my emotions into creative work.
I find inspiration in the relationship between humans and nature, the wonders of everyday life, and playful, sometimes whimsical, imagery. My works often have a naïve touch, but at times, a hint of magical realism also emerges. In addition to artistic ceramics, I create functional pottery, take commissions, and run courses at my studio, Onerva, which is located in the former woodworking classroom of an old village school.
At Onerva, you can explore the studio space and try your hand at creating a small ceramic sculpture or a tiny wall relief for a small firing fee. Spots are limited. There will be delicious snacks available, and a small market area where you can purchase art and functional ceramics to take home.
Onerva is located in the basement of the Liesjärvi Village Hall, at the Liesjärventie side end of the building. Parking is available in the courtyard of the Village Hall, on the south side of the building. For visitors with mobility restrictions, it is possible to drive directly to Onerva’s entrance – please contact us by phone for more details.
