Here we meet in a studio with a slightly different character; it is clean with older furniture and with wallpaper and art on the walls. This is my base to fulfil my dream - the dream of creating beauty! Clay is my tool or maybe I am its tool? I am hugely inspired by nature and the Fibonacci sequence keeps coming back. I currently work with 19 different clays; mixed stoneware and porcelain and I make my own glazes. In my creation, I move in the borderland between utility ceramics and pure art. I produce on a small scale. No piece is exactly the same as another, but my goal is to create unique objects that each contain their own feeling. A feeling that makes you happy when you hold it in your hands - ‘Feathers - a little piece of beauty for every day’
During the art tour you are welcome to visit me and my studio! My works are exhibited throughout the lower floor of the house. There you can stroll around the exhibition and our garden in peace and quiet. I am there for questions and conversations. If there is something you appreciate extra much, you have the opportunity to shop on site and I also accept orders. The studio is located in a Hilda Hongell house in central Mariehamn. Walking distance from the two marinas is each about 10 minutes or seven minutes from the center. If you come by car, there are a couple of parking spaces on the farm or parking on the side streets. The entrance has a sign well shown from the sidewalk.
