Information about the artist / the group

I'm Ulla Phillips, an artist and a designer. Studio Grrreen! is my studio, where you can see my wall art, which I create with clay plasters and paints that are self made. I especially like the sgraffito technique, in which a picture motif is formed by carving layers of different colored plaster and paint. Although my material is clay plaster, which has been used as a traditional interior wall coating for centuries, I do not stick to traditional interior motifs or the nature imagery typical of ecological art, but create graphic, fresh clay illustrations, surfaces and worlds. The wall mural technique I have developed is environmentally friendly and has a small carbon footprint. My artwork is for both private homes and public spaces.

Program during Konstrundan

During the Konstrundan event, you will get to learn about making clay plaster and paint and watch me work with the sgraffito technique. You will also get to see finished wall murals and small works in my studio. You will get information about upcoming Studio Grrreen! events and short courses in the autumn. You can also order your own wall piece, which can later be implemented either directly as part of the wall surface or as a hanging art work.

Valurinkatu 3, opposite the main entrance to Ala-Emali building. Access to Studio Grrreen! is via the loading dock walkway, step inside the studio through the first double door.
