Information about the artist / the group

I am a textile artist and designer from Lahti. I make art by weaving and embroidering. My artwork is inspired by stories, folk art and especially nature and life aroud us. I create combinations of mental and natural landscapes. Weaving gives the opportunity to express thoughts, feelings and moods through materials, structures and colors.
I am interested in the well-being effects of art. I want each artwork to be expressive and expertly executed. I graduated as a textile designer in 2001 and completed the master of culture and art degree in 2022. I have participated in international textile art exhibitions in Austria and St. Petersburg. My last solo exhibition was at the Habitare24 fair and the most recent joint exhibition was Ornamo's art sale exhibition 2025.

Program during Konstrundan

During the event, the public can get to know my studio, my work and the techniques, materials and tools I use. On display are both finished artworks from over the years as well as artworks in progress. The public has the opportunity to weave on a loom and/or in a weaving frame. An exhibition will be hung in my study and in the common areas of Svinksi's studio community during the event.
