I, Carola Hägg, am a visual artist, live and work in Vessö in Porvoo. I have been panting for almost 20 years, the last 4 as a professional: my studio is my workplace nearly every day of the year. The main reason for my art is to bring joy. In a way I am a bit divided with my art: on one side I love the figurative and on the other I have a passion for the expressive, abstract expression. At the moment my main focus is on the colourful, humorous birds. I use acrylic paint, watercolour, ink, charcoal, graphite and selfprintied ricepaper in my paintings. I work on canvas, paper and wood and the paintings are of different sizes. The smaller abstract paintings are often cropped from bigger papers painted in acrylics.

Program during Konstrundan

I usually paint on several pieces at the same time. In my studio you can see works in different stages and get a glimpse of how the paintings are made. I will also have a summer exhibition in July in my studio. All unsold works will be on display. You may see me painting, drawing bird cards or bookmarks and printing collage paper, You can also take a stroll in our garden with a cup of coffee.
