Information about the artist / the group

My name is Fredrika Auvinen, born Andersson, art educator and visual artist by education. I live in Espoo and have been working as a visual arts teacher at Mattlidens Gymnasium since 2006. My roots are in Eastern Uusimaa, Lovisa and I have a summer cottage in Strömfors. For Konstrundan I open the doors to my summer studio, a former hen house that has been renovated into a studio space. The environment is a genuinely Eastern Uusimaa rural landscape. My art, mostly paintings are about my personal experiences of the surrounding nature and culture. Creating, learning and experiencing art is a lifestyle for me, with which I want to increase joy, well-being and creativity.

Program during Konstrundan

My paintings, as well as the ceramics and graphics of my two art-studying daughters, are exhibited in the Henhouse-studio. Visitors have the opportunity to participate in creative drop-in painting-, graphics- and ceramics workshops.
