Information about the artist / the group

I am Laura Pehkonen, a ceramic and visual artist (MFA) living and working in Helsinki. My main material is ceramics, but I also work with wood and mixed-media paintings. The core of my practice is creating abstract, one-of-a-kind works using and combining various craft techniques. In recent years, I have created several ceramic artworks for public spaces, such as schools and hospital.
My works are non-representational, leaving the interpretation open to the viewer. Based on various colors, shapes, and surfaces, my works do not exclude anyone’s interpretation, but instead evoke different streams of images and thoughts in each viewer.

Driving directions

Enter through the main door at Nilsiänkatu 10 and go up to the second floor via the stairs. Unfortunately, the entrance through the main door is not accessible.
