Information about the artist / the group

I am a 77-year-old self-taught graphic artist and doll artist. I had a 41-year career as a draftsman in the architectural department of the city of Mänttä, from which I retired in 2012. In 1984, I became acquainted with printmaking techniques, woodcuts, and intaglio printmaking at the Mänttä Adult Education Center. Since then, I have worked independently, and my catalog includes over 50 works. In 2004, I completed a basic degree in crafts and design at Petäjävesi (artisan degree in doll design). I am an honorary member of the Mänttä Art Society and a founding member of the Finnish Doll Artists' Society, which operated for 20 years.
