Information about the artist / the group

I have been working as a studio potter since 1972. Mainly I make turned functional pottery. Today I mainly turn cups for hot drinks and matcha tea bowls for tea shops. My design is simple and with my own glaze I want to give my ceramics a personal touch. The glazes have been given names such as Bamboo, Marble, Granite, Monet, Perch Grass and Moss.

In 2022, I edited a Hashi publication for the Friends of Japanese Culture called ‘Japanilaisen ja suomalaisen keramiikan luovuuden lähteillä’.
Next autumn, I will participate in a group exhibition at Lapua Art Museum called ‘Siltoja ja solmukohtia’, bridges between Japanese and Finnish art.
