Information about the artist / the group

I am a sculptor that studied at Kankaanpää Art School (SAMK) and later moved back to Oulu. My works nowadays are mostly either serial sculptures or installations consisting of small parts. In my works, I deal with, for example, the vulnerability, time and change of the environment and its organisms, often using the conflict between material and subject matter as effective methods. The building materials include ceramics, paper, concrete and various recycled materials.

Program during Konstrundan

In my studio, I present my recent artistic production and tell about upcoming projects and exhibitions. In addition to me, visual artist Kaisu Heikkilä works in our studio in Kuvataidetila Kakru. In addition to our own studios, we also have common areas where works by both are on display.
"Konstrundas farliga runda", my workshop is part of the TAIDEVAARA studio collaboration. Located a few blocks apart, the studios offer diverse art by four visual artists.
