Information about the artist / the group

I am Sari Lempinen-Pääkkönen - designer and Vocational Qualification in Media and Visual Expression. I founded the Sapi Design company in 2022 and I’m self-employed. Mostly I’m felting art from dyed wool with two techniques - wet felting and needle felting. I felt walltextiles and little artifacts like bookmarks and magnets. I got my inspiration from Finnish nature - especially from animals. I also paint watercolor and softpastel paintings. Wool is a natural and versatile material for my nature-themed works and enable to make three-dimensional shapes. The works and products are actually created at home in the peace of nature in the countryside - in the summer they are for sale at market alley called Pikku Pietarin Torikuja in the center of Kuopio.

Program during Konstrundan

During Konstrundan you can buy felted or painted art and little artifacts. You can also see how needle felting works out.
