Information about the artist / the group

I am visual artist Piippa Mutikainen. I work in my studio, Pikku Galleria, which also serves as a summer gallery.
My practice is diverse, and I’m driven by a desire for renewal. I work with painting, installations, and photography. I’m a member of the Jyväskylä Artists’ Association. My most recent solo exhibition was held in Jyväskylä, and I participated in a group show in Venice.
I use materials such as acrylics, charcoal, pastel, and gold leaf. With mixed media, I create lively surfaces. In my object compositions and installations, I partially use recycled materials. Pikku Galleria is a popular venue for summer exhibitions. Last summer, we celebrated the gallery’s 20th anniversary.

Program during Konstrundan

I usually work in connection with summer exhibitions. During the open studio event, I will be creating a vine-like structure from recycled metal for various purposes. A part of my practice is combining craftsmanship with art.
