Information about the artist / the group

I have lived in France for 35 years, and studied and graduated in ceramics, specialising in raku ceramics in 2012. Moved back to Finland almost 7 years ago.
I create my own glazes from natural oxides, testing my own shades. Raku firing is a true source of wonder for me: it is a technique that leaves room for unexpected, uncontrollable magic. It is this very surprise that inspires me.
Inspired by Finnish nature, my art is - fire, smoke, reduction - works of geometric forms, often influenced by northern animals and birds, plants. I work mainly by playing with contrasts of smoke black and glaze white, blue and green tones and the luster effects of the reduction phase of a blistering fire. The end result is always a surprise.

Program during Konstrundan

I will present raku ceramics techniques, my raku kiln, glazes, finished ceramic works, as well as my studio and my home, where I’m also holding an exhibition. There will also be an opportunity to purchase my work.
