I graduated from the School of the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts, now the Academy of Fine Arts, in 1984, since then I have worked as a painter, holding exhibitions at home and abroad and working in artist residencies and workshops, most recently in Sicily last summer. I am a member of the Finnish Painters' Union, the Helsinki Artists' Association and the Espoo Artists' Association. Katri Kovasiipis review of Gallery Saskia's exhibition in Tampere in 2024 at the Cultural Editorial Office: "MarjaLeena Pohjola-Valkola paints works that are amazingly coloristic, rich in colour and sonorous. Through her work, she shows that any subject or object is enough as a subject for painting. Her sense of color is very well developed, these paintings are music to the eye."
From the Helsinki center take tram no. 7 to Rionkatu stop. From there to the right along Rionkatu to the end of the street to the edge of Hyväntoivopuisto Park. On the right side of it is Studio+ Gallery Rio 11.
