Originally from Sastamala, I lived in Switzerland for more than 40 years and I am back in my hometown after retiring from my job as an art history teacher. Here, I continue teaching graphics techniques and papermaking alongside my own creative work. I make paper from recycled materials, combining them with cellulose or plants and use it as a base for my graphics or in collages. In graphics, I use gravure printing methods such as drypoint and etching, working on a metal or plastic sheet and combining techniques. Often the subjects of my unique prints can be found in everyday details and nature.
I will show on the walls of my studio my graphic prints from the last few years, which illustrate my graphic work methods, often combined with, for example, collages, drawings or sewing. I also present papermaking from recycled materials and visitors can try it and take home-made paper with them.
Sammaljoki village is approx. 18 km from the center of Sastamala. From the center of the village, drive approx. 1 kilometer in the direction of Urjala on road number 2521, a small private road on the left just before the Liitsola/Punkalaidun junction.
