Painting
Maaria Märkälä is a landscape painter whose paintings are inspired by her own everyday life and trips abroad. For Märkälä, the entire painting process is a form of slow travel. While painting The Starry Night series Märkälä has thought about the night that she spent sleeping under the stars in a desert and how the starry sky has slowly changed during the night.
My paintings are abstract or semi abstract.
For me, art is a way of life and a way of dealing with things. The process is open and unplanned. Failure is also an opportunity.
Maaria Märkälä has held numerous private exhibitions in Finland and abroad. Märkälä's works are included, among others, in Finnish National Gallery, HAM, HUS, Helsinki Art Museum's collection and many private collections in Finland and abroad.
I've "cleaned" my studio and have an exhibition of my paintings on my studio walls. My expression is abstract or half abstract. The colors are painted in abundant layers on the canvas. For me art is a way of life and a way of processing things. The process is open and unplanned. Failure is also a possibility. During Konstrundan You can buy my Pink Champagne book from my studio.
