Hi!
My name is Rebecca Sandelin and I work as a artist-photographer and researcher in photography, arts and visual culture. I've trained as a photographer and artist in Finland and Scotland and have also completed a Master's degree in the history of photography in Scotland. My main interest lies in the histories of photography and their intersections with art and culture. I often use materials and different media, including those typically not considered art material, together with video and sound. Central themes in my artistic and creative practice include the human relationship with the environment and nature, the continuity of different forms of technology and their impact on culture, and how we as humans relate to the material and digital in our lives.
During Konstrundan, I will have an Open House-programme where visitors can enter my workroom and the separate exhibition space. These will host two different exhibitions, the one in the workroom will live and change for the duration of Konstrundan with half-finished works and work-in-progress that I will be working on. The one in the exhibition space will be complete with an intentional theme and content with specific artworks. I will also offer visitors drinks and homemade biscuits.
Walk from Rådhustorget to Kungsgatan. At the junction of Kungsgatan and Skillnadsgatan, turn right past the restaurant Santa Fe until you reach the junction with Björknäsgatan. Turn left there. The entrance to the Razorbill Gallery is the second door on the left, while the entrance to my studio is in the courtyard, the first door of the beige-coloured building. From the train station you can easily walk along the tower street and turn right at Stationsvägen, walk to the junction of Stationsvägen and Ystadsgatan, where you turn left. Turn right at the Björknäsgatan intersection and walk half a block down.
