This year, Konstrundan opened the doors to 317 unique studios and creative spaces across Finland during the first weekend of September. A total of 473 artists, craftspeople, designers, and artist residencies participated, warmly welcoming the public. The event provided a platform for lively conversations, inspiring work demonstrations, and personal encounters, giving 35,000 visitors an intimate insight into the artists’ worlds and creative processes.
“The most important task of Konstrundan is to build bridges between artists and the public. I’ve had most meaningful conversations in front of art, and that’s why I find my role as the new Project Manager of Konstrundan so meaningful. We live in a time marked by uncertainty and polarization, and I believe that art is more important than ever: it can strengthen our empathy, act as a counterforce, and open conversations that bring us closer to one another. Hopefully, art even deepens understanding.
I very much look forward to developing Konstrundan and making these encounters happen.”
