Are you passionate about art, culture, and project management? Would you like to lead a nationwide, multilingual event where hundreds of artists open their studios each year to tens of thousands of visitors? Then you might be the person we’re looking for!
Since 2008, Konstrundan has opened the doors to professional artists’, craftspeople’s, and designers’ studios and workshops across Finland. During one weekend in September, the public is invited to experience creative work up close, where Finnish contemporary art, crafts, and design are presented in their natural environment. Konstrundan aims to lower the threshold to art, increase understanding of artistic work, and provide visibility, networking, and sales opportunities for professional creators.
Konstrundan operates across language borders, combining professional content, a vibrant festival atmosphere, and educational programming. In addition to the main event, Konstrundan also organises Konstens fredag (Art Friday), a nationwide pedagogical program reaching thousands of primary school children.
As Project Manager, you will play a key role in planning, executing, and developing Konstrundan. The work is highly independent but takes place in close collaboration with the steering group, regional contacts, and participating artists. The position involves both administrative and creative tasks, and you will help shape the future of Konstrundan.
Main responsibilities:
- Annual planning and overall project management for Konstrundan and its side programs.
- Coordination and communication with artists, regional contacts, and partners.
- Budgeting and financial reporting.
- Planning and coordinating marketing and communications.
- Contacting funders and preparing grant and sponsorship applications.
- Follow-up, evaluation, and ongoing development work.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has strong organisational and project management skills, preferably with experience in the cultural or arts sector.
- Works independently, takes initiative, and is solution-oriented.
- Has excellent proficiency in Swedish (the main working language of Konstrundan), good skills in Finnish, and knowledge of English.
- Has experience or interest in working within the arts, culture, or creative industries.
- Is confident in handling budgets and administrative tasks.
- Has basic knowledge of marketing and communications.
We offer:
- Meaningful and creative work where you can help shape the future of one of Finland’s largest arts events.
- A broad and engaged network of artists, partners, and cultural actors across the country.
- A varied role combining both administrative and creative development work.
- A position that is primarily remote and independent, with flexible working hours and occasional in-person meetings and travel as needed.
Terms of employment:
The position is approximately 60% on average, but working hours vary throughout the year depending on the project's phases. Compensation is based on an hourly wage of €23.16/hour. The position starts in September 2025.
